Cancer is corruption. It is cells which mutate and the body attacking istelf. It can be hidden and people might live most of their lives with cancer and not knowing they have it. It can be sudden, fast acting, bringing great pain and death.  It can kill quickly. There is a sense that the tumours and the medical science to try and cure us are all invasions of our bodies.
