This project was a test work continuing from work on “Playing with Scans”. I used scans of my children, layered and coloured to experiment with how the scan might look and feel different if placed in an art gallery setting.

It is interesting then how the context changes how a medical scan might be thought of. I have shifted medical scan from doctor’s room to art gallery but fundamentally these are still medical scans.  I get no sense of the emotional involvement and pain and no sense of the real people the scan images are internal photographs of.  The scan become art and perhaps a thing of beauty but that not what I want to convey.
